The SHYFT team recently celebrated the completion of Parkway Heights Rowhomes in Creston, Iowa, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony held on August 5, 2026. The project transformed a previously razed school site into 36 modern studio, one-, and two-bedroom rowhome units designed to provide quality workforce housing for the local community. SHYFT collaborated with the Union County Development Association, SSOE Group, and DEV Partners to bring the project from concept to completion. Through our rowhome module approach, the project provides a flexible housing solution that responds to the needs of the community while offering residents an alternative to traditional apartment living.

One of the highlights of the project was its schedule. Thanks to the hard work and collaboration of the entire project team, Parkway Heights was completed nearly two months ahead of schedule. This allowed SHYFT to hand over the keys to the owners and property management team ahead of the original timeline, giving them the opportunity to begin welcoming renters into their new homes swiftly.
Parkway Heights also marked an exciting milestone for SHYFT Superintendent Holden Hensley, who led the project as his first project as a superintendent. Holden’s leadership, dedication, and commitment to keeping the project moving forward played an important role in bringing Parkway Heights across the finish line ahead of schedule. From transforming a vacant school site into much-needed housing to delivering the project ahead of schedule, Parkway Heights is a great example of what can happen when developers, designers, builders, and community partners work toward a shared vision.
Parkway Heights Rowhomes is officially complete! We’re proud to have played a part in bringing new housing opportunities to Creston and look forward to seeing the positive impact these homes will have on the community for years to come.
