Iowa Distilling Company Rack House

Iowa Distilling Company was in desperate need of additional storage space. Operating out of a historic building in Cumming, Iowa, their current distilling facility was not suited for barrel and retail storage based on their current production. The owner realized he needed assistance building a new storage facility, or “rack house”, to keep up with their local product demand. SHYFT then became the Owner’s Representative, providing site evaluation services, scope/cost estimation services, and architectural design services. SHYFT also led Iowa Distilling Company through the challenges associated with the City approval process in a small town - a distillery project was one the City was not familiar with. Upon completion, the new rack house will allow Iowa Distilling Company to properly store and age their barrels of spirits and house their current packaged products for retail.
