SHYFT was engaged by the Iowa Finance Authority and the Iowa Economic Development Authority to provide interior design, owner’s representation, move management, and construction management as agent services associated with the renovation of the 2nd and 3rd Floors at 1963 Bell Avenue. Due to schedule constraints associated with IEDA’s need to vacate their previous location to accommodate a new tenant, the fast-tracked project was to be completed in two and a half months at the end of 2019. SHYFT worked with both the IFA and IEDA stakeholders to develop the program and scope of work through our Strategic Planning process. An internal associate restack of the 2nd Floor space was also coordinated to allow for additional capacity on the recently-renovated 2nd Floor. A combination of traditional and pre-fab construction was utilized to achieve the building-standard aesthetic and to accommodate the compressed project schedule. The project was completed under budget and on schedule. SHYFT coordinated the relocation of 165 associates over the course of the project.
