Q: What is your favorite thing about working at SHYFT?
I really enjoy the diversity of projects, scopes, and opportunities. I am able to work closely and learn from all different project groups and phases. Working at SHYFT has given me the opportunity to continue to learn and develop my career as an aspiring licensed architect as well as work with an extremely talented team.
Q: What are some projects you’ve worked on?
Some of my favorites are Echo View Townhomes, Park Indy Townhomes, and Kalon Bridal. I have had the opportunity to work on a variety of phases for these projects, from initial design and planning to construction documentation.
Q: What is the one thing you are most proud of since joining SHYFT?
I am most proud of the renderings I did for the Echo View Townhomes project. These renderings have been used for our website, marketing, signage, etc., and I am thrilled with how they turned out. I believe they capture the project and its intentions exceptionally.
Q: What are a few of your career highlights at SHYFT?
My career started at SHYFT. I was given the opportunity in the summer of 2022 to come on board as an architectural intern, where I continued until my graduation from Iowa State University. After graduation, I accepted a full-time position as a designer. I am excited to continue to work with such a great team, work on a wide range of projects, and continue to make a better way to a better space.
Q: What's something unique about you?
I love food. When I was in high school, I worked at a pizza restaurant (Gusto Pizza) where I got to work in a fast-paced kitchen with very unique ingredients that I never thought would go together. This began my journey and love of food which continued to evolve while studying abroad in Italy. In college, I was also able to be in a culinary design studio where I was able to design and develop my own bagel recipe (a banana bread bagel), as well as design the serving, plating, and culinary experience around my creation. I still cook often and try to continue to enhance every food I make by trying new ingredients and pairings, as well as looking for inspiration in my favorite book The Flavor Bible.
