Aaron has known Eric Simon, VP of Operations, for about 20 years, and they worked together at a prior firm, before joining the SHYFT team. When SHYFT started building a construction team, Eric reached out. Aaron was actually hired right around the time of our rebrand in 2017, so although he was hired under our previous name, Bluestone Project Solutions, he has only ever worked under the SHYFT name! Read more about Aaron in the Q+A below.
Q: How is SHYFT different from other real estate/design firms that you have seen and worked for?
A: SHYFT is a company that is unique in the fact that we don’t do anything that someone else doesn’t do, but we do many of the things that others do – under one roof. The broad-based knowledge that is housed under one umbrella is atypical. Also, I have worked for construction companies for my entire career. It is a little wild being one of a handful of “construction” people.
Q: What are some projects you are currently working on?
Q: What is the one thing you are most proud of since joining SHYFT?
A: Being a small part of the growth and development of the construction team. Pre-pandemic we were on a steep growth trajectory. Hopefully, as the new normal settles in, we can find that path.
Q: What are a few of your career highlights?
A: I have been blessed – or is it cursed – with working on some iconic and unique projects – Science Center of Iowa, Mercy Westlakes Hospital, World Food Prize Headquarters, Hyatt Place – St. Paul. Over the course of the last almost 24 years, I have been fortunate to work with world renowned architects, local construction legends, and some really great people.
Q: Any fun facts you'd like to share?
A: My daughter, Landry, is named for the greatest NFL coach of all time – Tom Landry.
Thanks Aaron for all you do for the SHYFT Team!
