SHYFT is searching for a Senior Construction Manager to join the construction team in our Columbus, OH office. In addition to traditional experience, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate at all levels of our services to best showcase our preferred project delivery methods. These opportunities include working directly with the leadership team and firm members in all disciplines, supplemented by client and consultant interaction through focused project work, both in and out of the office.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Design, preconstruction, and construction management on construction project initiatives, including managing both internal and external design and construction team members.
Responsible for general project oversight including scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, communications, procurement, team building, and risk management. This includes assistance in the development of best practices for each of these initiatives.
Serve as the lead construction manager on one or more projects.
Communication responsibilities include documentation of project decisions and correspondence, conducting project meetings, and preparation of project status reports.
Oversee activities of vendors, subcontractors, and design professionals as required.
Maintain accurate and consistent electronic files and project documentation, including establishing best practices and process improvement initiatives.
Develop and perform internal controls for the team assigned to a project.
Prepare, develop, and solicit bid packages.
Prepare contract documents for clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
Responsible for construction budget management throughout the life of the project, from preconstruction through closeout. This includes accurate and timely management of buyout and change log management.
Responsible for ensuring formal project close-out documentation is complete.
Provide oversight and monitoring to less experienced team members.
Engage in company business development initiatives in central Ohio and other potential additional new markets.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:
To qualify at the Construction Project Manager level: 10+ years of demonstrated experience successfully working on construction, real estate, or capital projects. Estimating experience is a plus.
PE, PMP, or other industry professional designation (LEED, etc.) encouraged.
Strong familiarity with site plans, architectural and engineering drawings, contract administration/management, RFP process, project planning, and project tracking/reporting concepts.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all stakeholders (Clients, customers, vendors, contractors, partners, team members, etc.) creating a win-win in project delivery.
Fundamental comprehension of construction, design, procurement practices, delivery methods, and contract negotiation.
On-site trade contractor management experience preferred.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Ability to work in a team / agile environment, as well as independently when required.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
Degree from an accredited institution, with a preference towards Construction Management, Engineering or Real Estate.
